God of Advent

God of light,

Only you know when you will appear,

We ask you to enter our lives, our thoughts, our deeds,

Help us to live as people of the light,

Entering your presence in prayer,

And welcoming others who seek you.

            May we live our lives in hope,

waiting and watching and living for the day of the Lord to draw near
