A Prayer from North Edmonton Ministry

Our God, we acknowledge that you have created all people in your image. Over the past few weeks we have again been reminded by street protests in major cities around the world that black people’s lives have not always been treated with respect and human dignity. We want to recognize our own racist attitudes, thoughts, actions and white privilege that many of us have benefited from. We confess our shortcomings and ask for your forgiveness. We pray for real change in our individual hearts and the institutional structures of society at large. We pray that peace and justice would reign in all segments of our society and that the rights of colored and indigenous people will be upheld and that they would be treated with respect, and dignity as human beings created in your image. In the name of Jesus the Prince of Peace we pray. Amen.
